AGM, AWARDS & PRESENTATIONS
The 27th Annual Meeting of the New Zealand Business & Parliament Trust was held on Tuesday 30 April 2019 in the Grand Hall, Parliament House and was attended by corporate representatives and parliamentarians.
In his opening remarks the Trust’s President, Rt Hon Trevor Mallard MP, Speaker of the House of Representatives spoke about the Parliamentary seminar held in April and the upcoming new Machinery of Executive Government and Parliament seminar to be held in June. The President went on to comment about the importance of the Business Attachment programme for members of Parliament and the Trust’s ongoing recognition of the triennial Youth Parliament, being held in July with a competition.
Peter Griffiths, current Chair of the Trust Board was re-elected for a further term of three years. Chris Litchfield, Chief Executive of Coco Cola Amatil was elected to the vacancy on the Trustee Council and is seconded to the Board for a term of three years. We formally welcome Chris to this role.
Following the formal business certificates were presented to 3 members of Parliament who had completed Business Attachment programmes in 2018. Certificates were also presented to Annie MacDonald and Kathleen Robertson, who are the last two recipients of the Trust’s scholarship programme with Victoria University of Wellington.
