The Rt Hon Christopher Luxon is the 42nd Prime Minister of New Zealand in addition to holding the portfolios of Minister for National Security and Intelligence and the Minister Responsible for Ministerial Services.

Christopher won the Botany seat in the 2020 general election and served as the National Party spokesperson for local government, research, science, manufacturing and land information. He was appointed as the Leader of the National Party and subsequently Leader of the Opposition in 2021 before being elected Prime Minister of New Zealand in 2023.

Prior to becoming a Member of Parliament, Chrisopher spent the first 18 years of his career working at multinational consumer products company Unilever in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, USA, and Canada before serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Air New Zealand for six years. 

Christopher has won numerous business awards, including the Peter Blake Leader Award and the Deloitte CEO of the Year. Outside his corporate roles, he has served as Chair of the Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Council and is a Vice Chair and Trustee of the international aid organisation Tearfund New Zealand.
